Schoenfeld International String Competition 2016 – Harbin
Overview
Schoenfeld International String Competition (SISC) aims to enrich the culture of music by recognizing and promoting highly gifted young musicians around the world. We are now planning to host our third competition in 2016 in Harbin. The event will be held in the newly-built Harbin Grand Theater, Concert Hall, and the Conservatory of Music in Harbin. In the previous years, we had over 200 participants from 45 music institutions all over the world, including the Juilliard School of Music, Curtis Institute, and the Royal Academy of Music. Shlomo Mintz and Lynn Harrell will be joining us as the chairs of jury. SISC 2016 is open to all nationals, ages 18 – 35. Total of USD 30,000 in cash prizes for each of the winners of violin and cello division, USD 20,000 for the winning ensemble in the chamber division (piano trio and string quartet).
